Nolan Parkhurst of the north Flagler Wildcats is a specimen standing at 6’0 and weighing in at 220, who intimidates his opponents before the play begins. First thing that jumps off the screen is he’s towering over everyone on the field. Blessed with a nice sized frame, on the next level, he will put on weight and be an ideal collegiate recruit size earlier than later.
Press play on the tape and the size computes. He overpowers his opponents with ease but he’s not just all brawn. I could tell he trains because he is extremely active with his hands and works his way to the ball carrier. Most defensive linemen stared down the quarterback, but Nolan gets rid of the obstacle in between him and the quarterback exceptionally well. That is a direct characteristic that lets me know he takes his craft seriously. He has Ideal size and works his hands well. He’s a strong athlete who can control the fight with good leverage.
At the FBU Top gun showcase he turned in an impressive showing with every rep he took. He won each Rep not by just Bull rushing, but showing that he has a toolbox of skills and understanding how to use them.
After reviewing film, we recognize Nolan as a 3.5 star. Which is an above average athlete with upside! After review of his film Nolan has earned a Flex Badge for his elite strength, Specimen Badge for his Elite size, Tackle machine badge for the high volume of tackles on his film, and the Think tank Badge for his knowledge of his craft and effective use. Would like to see him in person and versus some elite competition. We look forward to seeing this young man over the next few years develop and earn collegiate attention.
