Skinny:
Jackson is a unique Qb prospect with a solid foundation to build off of. He might not be the biggest player on the field but he makes up for it with his style of play. Jackson would be considered an improviser, someone who can make magic happen while being fearless. He has the confidence to do anything that he sets his mind to and its contagious for his team.
I like the anticipation that Jackson has on his throws, it allows him to beat the defense before they can react which is the best advantage to have as a signal caller. Jackson is deadly accurate, I like how confident he is when delivering the ball. He feels as if there isn’t a route he can’t complete. Majority of his throws are either right on the money or directly on his recievers numbers, that’s impressive. Jackson has nifty footwork, he gives himself time to react quickly to oncoming defenders and he has very good awareness. I love Jackson’s mobility, he can hurt you through the air and on the ground. This young man can spin it with the best of them. I’d like to see how he does against the rest of his class.
Improvements:
Jackson has the potential to be a cornerstone piece for any team he plays for. With these tweaks Jackson will take his game to new heights. Jackson has a tendency to wind-up before going through his motion, this creates a delay that can keep his recievers waiting on the ball. Jackson would benefit from loading the ball directly over his right chest area. This will create a smooth release and transition that results in less wasted motion. I’d like to see Jackson adjust his base, his feet tend to be too close. He will benefit by keeping his feet shoulder width apart while stationary, a strong base equals a more efficient delivery. While throwing on the run Jackson should keep attacking the line of scrimmage. He has the tendency to stop and pop which can be good if your reciever is open now but as he gets older the speed of the game will pick up quick. The advantage of attacking the line of scrimmage is that you put a defense in a tough position to make a decision, do they get the Qb and leave recievers open or stay in coverage and allow the Qb to use his legs. Jackson could use this to his advantage. The last thing for Jackson to improve on his pronation. He turns his hand as if he’s playing basketball, instead he should turn his thumb all the way down until he can see the inside of his hand. This creates solid revolution on the ball and it keeps his passes from sailing mid-air if it ever came down to it. Overall, I like Jackson at the Qb position, his upside is promising. Building a legacy starts when you’re young and Jackson is setting himself up for success.
