Synopsis:

In a recent game between #7 Lawrenceville and #9 Buford, the Black Knights’ quarterback had a challenging day, completing only 11 of 16 passes. The Black Knight line struggled, allowing 7 sacks on the quarterback. This made it difficult for Brandon to find his rhythm in the pocket. The run game also faced difficulties, managing only 62 yards in total. It’s clear that the Black Knights will need to address their offensive issues in order to be successful in important games this season.

Brandon, who previously played in the Cedar Grove System has now moved to a predominantly wing T and heavy I Formation scheme under coach Rowe, who is known for winning. This change in offensive strategy raises the question of whether adjustments will be made to better support Brandon and the rest of the team, or if the system will take precedence over individual skill sets.

Despite the challenges, Brandon has managed to have 2 games with over 120 yards passing, showing promise for the team’s growth and improvement. The Black Knights will need to work on correcting their mistakes and aim to secure more victories in the coming games.

SWQA individual QB analysis:

Brandon had a tough time getting his feet set during the game, and it was clear that the pressure was weighing on him. I noticed he was so focused on the rush that he missed some of the open opportunities his receivers were creating. The pressure affected his follow-through as well, causing the ball to sail at times. During his rollouts, Brandon could benefit from losing a bit of ground to create more space to make a clean throw. When Brandon decides to leave the pocket, I want him to feel confident because he has the mobility and skill to make it happen. These moments of adversity are what mold great quarterbacks. At this level of play, I expect these kinds of mistakes, but I know Brandon and his team are eager to learn and improve. Their hunger for knowledge is what will propel them forward.

The result:

The final score of the game was 22-6.
