QB1 Nation Hot List

Name : Zayden McKeever
Position : QB
Measurables : 5’1″-125 Lbs
Class : 2029
Team : CDJ Lambo (GA) 10U
Skinny :
Zayden McKeever is quite simply an athletic signal-caller. He has a quick but strong delivery on his throws and possesses superb accuracy on short and mid-range throws. There were multiple instance last year in which McKeever displayed the ability to squeeze the ball into tight coverages over the middle. The Seal Sports lists McKeever as the #1 10u- quarterback in the country, and a lot of it has to do with the fact that he is very nimble on his feet. He has the eyes of a good running back to see open lanes to run through, but he also has the ability to escape the pocket and give plays extra time to develop. On one particular play, his slot receiver was just three yards outside of the end zone, and McKeever was able to maneuver around multiple rushing defenders and throw the ball over the heads of three men in the secondary to find his open receiver.
Mckeever still has plenty of potential. He resembles D.J Bailey who played for DFW Elite Dawgs almost 3 years ago in regard to his quick delivery. But not even Bailey put up 50 touchdowns in the country’s highest scoring offense. A born winner and natural leader McKeever continues to make his coaches job easy, the way he commands this explosive offense.

Name : Trae Taylor
Position : QB
Measurables : 6’0”-153 Lbs
Class : 2027
Team : Crystal Lake Raiders (IL)
Skinny :
Always the consummate professional, the talent that always shows up first and leaves last, the dedicated workaholic. Yes, folks I’m speaking on Trae Taylor who always strikes me as a specimen engineered in the lab the way he plays the Quarterback position. This prospect already has an incredible handle on anticipating where a play is headed. Taylor is a quick-trigger decision maker who identifies options in the open field and delivers strikes.
His consistent precision from inside the pocket or beyond is a direct result of squared shoulders and sustained footwork mechanics. He moves around well when pressure arrives and manages to direct traffic downfield while scrambling. If I had to hang my hat on a can’t miss prospect, then this oh so polished Gunslinger would get the nod and you can bet the house on that. As impressed as I am with this phenom his best ball is ahead of him as he gets stronger and adapts to the next level.

Name : Neiman Lawrence
Position : QB
Measurables : 6’2”-175 Lbs
Class : 2028
Team : Plantation Wildcats (FL)
Skinny :
Neiman Lawrence, who has thrown for over I’d say about 5,000 yards and 80 plus touchdowns through about 40 youth games these last 3 years, per The Seal, has the size high school & collegiate coaches covet at quarterback. His arm strength is the first thing that stands out. Lawrence is able to throw the long ball with ease and accuracy. He understands where he needs to put the ball, and a lot of that is from his apparent football IQ. He is poised inside and out of the pocket when a play breaks down and makes a lot of throws that quarterbacks typically reserved for more polished players.
Nobody in this group launches the ball downfield as effortlessly, and he quickly reminded me of JaMarcus Russell in terms of top tier arm strength. Lawrence displays excellent lower-body technique behind center, actively engaged from the feet up. Lawrence talent and ability are there and always have been. There’s no doubt that the hype is deserved and justified. Lawrence has the mobility and arm strength to be a successful and maybe even great quarterback on the High School level. Especially since reports are that Lawrence will be playing varsity Quarterback as an 8th grader for Ransom Everglades. A dedicated student athlete who boosts an impressive 4.0 gpa which proves he is on an elite level on the field and off it. If Lawrence can learn to use his lower body while throwing, then he will be a force for years to come — accuracy is not an issue with him and will only get better. Blessed with the frame, brains and elite arm strength don’t look for Lawrence to let go of that #1 QB ranking in his class he is poised for 5-star status.

Name : Luke Rubley
Position : QB
Measurables : 6’2”-175
Class : 2028
Team : Highland Ranch Mountain Lions (CO) 13U
Skinny :
Luke Rubley is efficient in every capacity of the position, lofting expertly placed passes with plenty of air underneath them and the right amount of zip. Excellent mechanics augment other elements of his game, especially accuracy and pocket presence are equally impressive.
He isn’t nearly as fleet–footed as a few of his highly ranked contemporaries, but Rubley shows off a strong feel for the progression of a play and steps up at the right time, willing to wait for an ideal moment to pull the trigger on a throw. Rubley can rip passes 50-plus yards downfield with a flick of his wrist, exhibiting top-tier arm strength that keeps defensive backs on their heels. This asset isn’t just seen on deep targets, as he also torches opponents with short fastballs that are well-timed and accurate enough to keep the chains moving with modest chunks of yardage.
His improvisational skills set him apart from many contemporaries, as he exhibits a natural ability to not only overcome adversity in the pocket but actually rise up and create a big-time play. Rubley comes from a long line of Quarterbacks in his family that alone explains his advanced Football IQ. His pedigree can’t be denied look for this Field general to put the country on notice 2023.

Name : Chorell Rawlings
Position : QB
Measurables : 5’11”-170 Lbs
Class : 2028
Team : Maryland Heat Da Mobb 12u
Skinny :
In studying Chorell ‘ place among recent DMV quarterback standouts, former Florida Gator standout Anthony Richardson may be the only prospect who commanded more respect as an all-around athlete. Nicknamed “Rell,” he attacks opponents with true dual-threat talent that is enhanced by elite size and an elusive hard-nosed rushing style.
He warrants long looks from every High School program in the DMV, due in large part to his potential at multiple positions. Rawlings, who broke out thru the air and on the ground, must still develop his unpolished passing technique that limits his range behind center. Nevertheless, Rawlings is a dynamic playmaker when he tucks the ball, he displays next level vision & patience coupled with the afterburners when he enters the second level of the defense. That added gear helped him account for 15 plus rushing touchdowns on the year. With an MVP campaign 2022 look for Rawlings to continue applying pressure what can I say, “I guess that’s the DOG in him”.

Name : Zachary Katz
Position : QB
Measurables : 6’1”-192 Lbs
Class : 2027
Team : True North Classical Academy (FL)
Skinny :
Zachary Katz is a joy to watch if you appreciate quarterbacks who can settle in and find rhythm from the pocket without doing anything over the top in the process. He’s a technician who hits receivers in stride even when they’re well-covered, thanks to his elite accuracy and live arm.
His efforts don’t end between the tackles, as Katz functions well when forced to roll out and can pick up pivotal yards as a hard-nosed runner. Perhaps most importantly, the game seems to come at him naturally at this stage of his development, which is an encouraging sign for early High School stardom. Not many 8th graders could say they enjoyed the success Katz had on the varsity level All-State honors. Katz confidence grew and his numbers soared finding comfort in the system Swiss cheesing his opponents’ defenses. Scary to think this kid really has four more years to get even better. Will there be any records left when he is done?

Name : Cannon Robinson
Position : QB
Measurables: 5’9”-150
Class : 2028
Team : CD Dreamchaser (GA)
Skinny :
Cannon Robinson has a firm understanding of what’s expected from him with the CD Dreamchasers and exhibits a polished passing approach. He keeps his shoulders square while moving in the pocket and delivers darts that find receivers on the appropriate shoulder pad to keep their momentum moving toward the end zone.
He displays confidence in the pocket and doesn’t look uncomfortable when forced to search for third or fourth options during a play’s progression. He displayed leadership while commanding a star-studded collection of talent during their YNC National Championship run, delivered daring strikes without hesitation, and rarely looked out of his element during their most difficult stretch of their schedule. I mean his nickname is Cannon for a reason once he locks on his guy, he has the arm strength to put it thru any window with just a flick of the wrist. With Georgia’s run with elite Quarterbacks not hard to see Robinson has the goods to possibly add his name to that list.

Name : Russell Sekona
Position : QB
Measurables: 5’10”-195 Lbs
Class : 2028
Team : IB Braves (CA)
Skinny :
Russell Sekona is the most decorated quarterback prospect from a winning standpoint, I mean 3 consecutive AYF National Championships speak volumes. His efforts were aided by desirable football intelligence and impressive.
Sekona is a savvy leader who possesses an accurate arm and overlooked mobility. His dropback is consistent and precise, leading him through the same motions on a repetitive basis. Sekona seems to grasp which chances are worth taking and which are ill-advised.
His physical attributes aren’t extraordinary, He’s continued to make strides, particularly when it comes to matching elite arm strength with improved accuracy that’s particularly noticeable when locating receivers on crossing routes.
Sekona, another big arm thrower on this list, fires lasers with a quick release that doesn’t require much room to get off. The thing that stands out the most with Sekona is his composure in the pocket, he isn’t easy to be rattled and once he is in the zone, you’re at his mercy. Sekona is poised to take the next step in his development, he somewhat shared the QB job, but you could tell he would’ve done bigger numbers if he didn’t. So, 2023 will be the year Sekona will be fully unleashed stay tuned.
