Here, I highlight a young man who is staying true to the process. Day is an exceptional student-athlete excelling both on and off the field. As a quarterback, he enjoys learning new things and continuously sharpening his skills.
Scholastic |
Day has been a straight-A student every year. This year, he finished the school year (5th grade) four months ahead of schedule, completing all his coursework with A’s by January 24th. Now, he is learning Spanish. Remarkably, he is the youngest and only non-high school student to be named SNN’s Student-Athlete of the Month by Sarasota news station.
Athletic |
Day has made himself a student of the game in many ways. During flag season, he calls his own plays, which allows him to practice leadership and situational skills early. Day is in the gym every day, working hard, lifting weights, running, and constantly sharpening his mechanics. He’s been honing his skills by working with South Carolina legend Stephen Garcia at Spinitathletics. Day’s hard work translates well to the game, as you can see in his film. Stephen had this to say about Day, “Day is a natural leader, exhibiting a maturity that surpasses his years. He connects well with peers and older athletes, including high school, college, and professional players. His dedication and focus are exceptional for someone his age, driven by a strong work ethic and a genuine desire to improve. These traits are a testament to his supportive parents, who instill in him the values that drive his success. Although I haven’t seen him recently, I am confident he’s been honing his skills. He excels in many areas, and with the right team, players, and coaches, his confidence and performance will soar. Staying confident and trusting that hard work will yield results is crucial. Working with him is always enjoyable, and the older athletes also enjoy and support his development”. This speaks volumes about Day’s ability and character.
Volunteer work |
Day dedicates his time to volunteer work for Agility Physical Therapy, the Salvation Army, and placing flags on veterans’ tombstones. He plans to participate in Wreaths Across America in the fall.
