Dale Green Jr can be described in one word — unfair. Standing 6-foot and 225 pounds as a sixth grader, Dale is a rare physical specimen with the size, strength, and athleticism that instantly jumps off the field. I first had the opportunity to watch him compete at the D1 Nation All-American Combine, where he impressed with strong testing numbers, but it was during live competition where he truly separated himself from the pack. Even against older competition, Dale stood tall and never backed down.
Throughout the weekend, Dale dominated on both sides of the football, but especially along the defensive line. He consistently penetrated the offensive backfield, creating chaos for offenses on nearly every snap. His combination of power, leverage, and aggression makes him extremely difficult to contain. Offensive linemen struggled to slow him down as he routinely overpowered blockers and drove defenders 10 yards downfield when lined up on offense.
What makes Dale even more intriguing is his versatility. Not only does he excel in the trenches, but he also contributes on special teams as the kicker for his squad. Most players with his size would be considered liabilities in open-field situations, but Dale proved otherwise. One play that stood out most was on kickoff coverage when the returner appeared gone for a touchdown, only for Dale to chase him down near the 20-yard line. That moment showcased his relentless motor, athleticism, and refusal to quit on a play.
Dale Green Jr is the type of young prospect that immediately demands attention whenever he steps on the field. With continued development, he has all the tools to become not only one of Michigan’s top prospects, but one of the premier young athletes in the nation.
